Default Howdy from Wisconsin

Hi all-

I live in the north woods of Wisconsin and have a 2010 Fun Finder Xt190 toy hauler. It's been a great RV.

Would like to invite you all up to our gorgeous part of the world. I'd be happy to lend you my driveway and show you around!

Jill

Welcome to the FF forums.

Don't know if I will ever get over that way but thanks for the invite.

One never knows what the future may bring.

Hi Jill... Welcome to the Forum...

We are located in East Central Minnesota about 45 min. to an hour drive NW of the Cities (MLPS-SP)... Glad to be away from the large city...

We get up to the Arrowhead area and enjoy the campgrounds near Lake Superior... We made a couple trips that way last year and loved the trip to Grand Marais Campground (Nice, but too many people) and on up to the End-Of-The-Trail... BEAUTIFUL...

We have talked about going to areas in WI; my wife is originally from here, but I am new to the upper Midwest... Where and what campgrounds would you recommend...

Default Camping in Wisconsin

It depends what you are looking for, John. What do you guys like to do when you camp? In the north woods, where I live, there are state and national forests...no hook-ups.... but the campgrounds are gorgeous, all on lakes, lots of trails. Let me know what kind of campers you are, what part of the state you want to visit, and I can make some recommendations.

Hi Jill
I'm new to just camping; I have been camping all my life, but except for a few of my teenage years, I always went camping with a purpose, e.g., prospecting, treasure hunting, fishing, hunting, etc. I don't hunt or fish anymore, I guess the purpose is prospecting, metal detecting or sightseeing...

In that case, I would suggest that you come and stay at one of the state forest campgrounds near my home and let me show you around! The one I would recommend is Big Lake in the Northern Highland State Forest. It is right up the road from my house and I love it there.

Keep in touch if I can be of any help to you.

Jill

Thanks Jill,
We may get a chance to get up that way later this year ... When the snow is gone and the weather is warm anyway...
