Yup, well aware of deer as raised on a farm & started riding in 1959 or 1960. Unlike a cow that will always turn it's head in the direction it will run, a deer will be looking one direction, then bolt in a different direction.
I have ridden in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, Montana, Colorado, Nevada, California, Oregon, Kentucky, Idaho, Arkansas and Texas....and lived in several of them.
Hit a big whitetail doe in 1968 at 70 MPH with a big '64 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88, spun me twice around on the highway. Had a deer run into the side of my '90 Buick Regal and had one litterly jump over me when riding a '63 Harley Sportster years ago.
I'm always on the watch for deer or other critters; glancing from ditch to ditch constantly. Armadillos were horrible in Oklahoma but didn't move very fast.
