2006 FF t160X interior lights - bulb question
Interior light bulbs are mini 921 long life I think.....they must generate heat as most of mine are black on top n most are blown. Is there an LED replacement for the 921's making sure the ceiling light covers still fit. I don't mind using the 921's as burn life is around 500 hrs but LES's are brighter n last forever!

I guess you have wedge base type bulbs. Amazon has a variety of replacements.
Example;
TCBunny LED Replacement Light Bulb 921/T15 Wedge base 52 Lumens 12v or 24v Natural White (12 Pcs) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BTK5W3U..._KMvozbDMM4A47

In our XT200, I had to try a couple of different brands of LED, as some of the plastic bases on the bulbs were slightly different. Some didn't quite push all the way into the base, and hit the plastic. I settled on these: GRV T10 921 194 9-5050 SMD LED Bulb lamp High Bright Warm White DC 12V Pack of 10 from Amazon. The light was a pleasing color and the bulbs run much cooler. We do a fair bit of dry camping, and the LEDs really do prolong battery life.

I agree, they draw a LOT less power. I picked up some inexpensive LEDs from Amazon, work great, enough light, put a brighter light strip over the table. The inverter fan NEVER turns on anymore. It used to run the minute we turned on more than 2 lights. Amazing!

I think that getting a warm white led bulb is desirable. The cool whites come off very in-natural. We replaced most of the light fixtures with new led fixtures from Amazon. Eleven fixtures total. The shower light and porch lights are still incandescent. The double fixtures are a nice warm white but the single fixture have a cooler white bulb in them. And one of the doubles had one of each!!

I agree LED's take considerably less power than incandescent bulbs.
However, I don't agree they last longer.
I've had to replace LED strips where some of the LED's burned out in only a few months while miniature incandescent bulbs on the same vehicle have never failed.
When a LED burns out, one must replace the entire unit as individual LED's are NOT REPLACEABLE....like in strips and brake/tail lights, etc.
That's my experience ...... other's may have different experiences.

The main killer of led bulbs is heat. If the fixture is engineered wrong they will suffer. I've read of people who have the new RVs with led steps in the front cap having them fail soon after buying. A real pain I'm sure.

Thanks xbassman, we love this truck too. It was a Florida truck that a dealer had up here in northern Michigan. It's 2 wheel drive and they are not popular up here, but it didn't matter to us since we have a 4wd Jeep. We get close to 17 mpg normal and 12.6 towing.
