Red face A plea for help from a newbie after a tree tussle

Hi, my husband and I purchased our first RV ever since a disastrous flirtation with a popup tent trailer twenty five years ago. We have been practicing driving with it and maneuvering prior to taking it out on the road. This weekend, my husband graciously pulled over on a narrow road to make way for another driver. What he did not take into account was the fact that a tree trunk was protruding above his mirror level, so when he pulled off, he sideswiped the tree, tearing off the awning. I have attached photos of the damage. Needless to say, he is really upset by what happened and is worried about what this is going to cost to repair if we go to the dealer. He is a very handy guy and would do it himself if he knew where to go for parts. Are the parts for this repair standard? Any suggestions as far as how to instructions or videos for something like this? Thanks in advance for any help or advice that you may be able to give us. We do have roadside insurance, but somehow I don't think that this will be covered. Sorry about the upside down photo, but I can't figure out how to detach it.

I don't suppose you could delete your photos and then turn them around? I looked at it on my phone (where it is right side up) and can't tell where the problem is. Maybe back off from it a few feet for a better overall picture. Is the arm by the window bent? Is the second picture showing bent frame around the top of the door?

It's hard to see from the photos, but parts are available. If you know the brand and model of the awning a Google search should get you there. Did you get a manual for the awning? If so that should also have a parts diagram in it.

Thank you for the replies. I apologize for the upside down photography and I couldn't find a way to remove the photos. The previous owners were great about giving us all the paper work, so the manual is probably there. My husband is going to try to locate it this weekend. Many thanks.

If you can't find the manual, Funfinder tends to use Lippert as their supplier so there's a good chance (although not 100%) that you have a Solera awning.
