Default Antenna Question

I had to reroute the antenna cable because I moved the TV to the kitchen area of the trailer. I disconnected the coax that ran from the antenna to the amplifier and connected it to a new coax that I ran to the TV's new location. I pulled the amplifier plate off the wall and disconnected the cable in line and the antenna in line, then connected them together using a barrel connector, bypassing the amp altogether. The old antenna line (now a cable line runs to a manual "A?B" switch in the cabinet where the antenna crank is to allow use of antenna or cable to the TV. I want to put an amp in the antenna line, but I can't get hold of AntennaTek to buy one of theirs. I should be able to use a generic amp shouldn't I if I can't get one from them?

Any amp will work. And most likely the original one was the low bidder so you can probably upgrade while you're at it.
