Default Dish Network

Hello,
I'm switching to Dish Network so I can use sling while camping using cell service. I don't want to go through the expense of another dish etc... We usually have decent cell service while camping. Does anyone have experience with Dish and their sling app? Also if anyone has Dish I'd be happy to save you $50 if you have a referral code you want to give me.
Thanks

I have heard about Sling, but I have very limited knowledge about it. Doesn't it use an internet connection so you can watch television on any of your devices?

If that's the case, why would you need Dish?

Sling is part of Dish Network which let's you watch your DVR and satellite service remotely. There is also a stand alone service called sling tv so you don't need satellite at all, which makes makes it confusing since they both use the same name. I think with that you can only watch live TV. I just signed up with Dish today so I will see if it works ok over cell signal. I can then use my cell Wifi to stream TV while camping. Personally I wouldn't have anything but Netflix, but the family complains anytime I suggest that

So, with the Dish version of "Sling", you won't need a satellite antenna to watch your programming?

I'm assuming then you're going to need a data plan with your cell phone provider that provides a lot bandwidth ???

Yes, you would need a lot of data. I have T-mobile which includes unlimited streaming of Netflix, Hulu, Sling, etc. It looks like you can buy a Slingbox that works with other services as well, it's already included inside DISH equipment but apparently you can use the stand alone box with any service. It looks like it connects between your cable or satellite box and your TV and slings it to the web. Then you can watch and control your DVR remotely. So, as long as you have data available you can watch anything on your DVR at home anywhere in the world. I'll report back when I get it working.
