Unfortunately, it absolutely has to have the 12 volt! Inverter died on a trip to Arizona, and had no refrigerator until I could get home to replace it, even though I had to refrigerator plugged directly into Shore power and a fully charged battery. As soon as I replace the inverter refrigerator has worked perfectly since.

Was troubleshooting my fridge after VAC failure & discovered a loose blue wire too coming from a 6 pin plug (top left hand corner of the board). After some searching through the manual, I determined that my 2way model (model 2652) does not require it.

As to my fridge issue, a new VAC heater sensor/electrode is on order...
