Default First weekend out

this weekend was our first time out in the new camper at a jeep show and it was great. no major problems just a few questions. is the shower water supposed to go into the black water tank? i woul dhave guessed it was gray. not a huge deal it just fills up fast w/ 3 adults showering. and does anyone know how much propane the fridge uses? only problems we had were one of the latches on the drawers broke and it came totally out and spilled its contentes and the TV doesnt fit on the shelf where its supposed to go (but we dont really want to watch TV when we are camping anyway).

Morning JeepGuy! The shower should be connected to the Grey water tank, not the black water, that is very strange! The amount of propane used by the fridge is pretty small, but trying to search for an answer I can't find any reference saying at what rate they use propane. Very odd! If you do find a source, let us know, I would like to find the answer to that one!!

Sorry to here about the drawer, on our last trip one of the window blind anchor points came loose and I am debating between taking it to the dealer, or fixing it myself. We also have some trim pieces coming loose. For the TV, we went and bought a basic 19" LCD TV that fits the opening and mounted that. It is nice on rainy days to watch a show, or DVD on a decent TV, good luck with yours!

From info I have found, most fridges for a FunFinder would utilize a 1000 btu/hr burner. Propane contains 21591 btu/lb. Assuming the burner was running at full capacity 21591/1000 = 21.6 hrs. Multiply 21.6 by the lbs of propane in your tank and it should be an approximation of the number of hours with the fridge running full blast.

i just went out and did a test, i ran the garden hose directly into the shower (no flushing of toilet like when out camping) and it DOES go into the blackwater tank, kinda sucks cause we use the toilet/shower more than the sink.

Default shower/black tank

Hi JeepGuy;
That is definately hooked up wrong. I understand how quickly the shower water takes up space even in the grey tank. If I am not paying attention to the monitor or our use, the bottom of the shower lets me know we have hit the max. grey water tank capacity by backing up in the bottom of the shower tub. I carry a tot a long just for that reason.
I have had a few trim things to take care of, not difficult or expensive. I have moved one of the cabinet over head shocks to close better, put a few finishing nails in on the trim along the divider wall between the kitchen and forward bed. I had same problem with one of the drawers, I solved it by shopping at local rv center store for replacement drawer bracket, removed both drawers to be able to have room to work back there! Keep us posted on your progress or if you have any further troubles/questions.

Default tank hook up

Are you still under warranty? That should be covered!

I would definitly go back to the dealer and tell them its unacceptable, not only are you filling the black tank rapidly, but there is an open drain to the sewer tank in your trailer. I don't think that would be sanitary/healthy and I would demand repair or replacement.

Good luck man!

well i just got back from the dealer and after them calling the manf and talking to someone that knows what they were talking about(not the first person that i talked to) and i guess on my model(160) the shower and toilet do both drain into the blackwater tank and there is a vlave that keeps the smell/fumes out of the shower drain. i guesss when the shower and toilet are together like on my model its all one tank.

Good to hear it is part of the design, it did seem strange it would leave the factory with an issue like that, glad you got correct info and you can use your trailer not worrying! Happy Camping!!

Hi JeepGuy,
Something sounds fishy. I checked the spec and your 160 has the same size grey and black water tanks as my 189FBR. 32gal grey and 25gal black. It doesn't make sense that they would intentionally run the shower into the black. It almost sounds like they were trying to get out of making the repair. I would call Funfinder again.

i did talk to them again, the guy at the dealer called them while i was there. if you look under mine it kinda makes sence, the gray water is right under the sink which is to the right of the entry door, the black water is under the toilet /shower which is all one unit, i guess cause its a smaller unit with a shower its the only way evertyting would fit. i mighgt look into making the gray water tank into a 2nd blackwater tank.

Ok, that makes sense, in the T160 the shower and toilet are in the back and the sink is in the middle of the trailer. That is the way they designed it, but still doesn't sound like a good design. I guess you will have to modify it yourself, if you want to. Good luck and great camping!

Sorry, I meant to type X160 not T160. I have the 189FBR so I can't look under the 160, but you might be able to disconnect the shower drain and run a line to the grey tank. I'm not sure if you have the clearance though. That might be a big job.
