Generator mounting
Just bought a 2017 266 KIRB. So I had a tongue mounted generator stand on my last trailer that put the generator above the propane tanks. Thinking about doing the same on this trailer but was just curious if anyone out there has done something similar or has any ideas. I also mounted an open aluminum storage box off the back bumper which I might do again unless I put the generator there. But a liked the box as I carried my fake yard and firewood there. Just looking for ideas. I own a fab shop so I got lots but sometimes there are better ideas out there. Thanks

Hi scenicjets, welcome to the Forum
I have heard of folks mounting a genny up above the tanks, but never actually laid my eyes on it... We often carry a small genny, but I stick it in the back of the TV; it generally gets used twice a year though... Once before loading and once before it goes to sleep for the winter...
Have fun and enjoy the outdoors...

I am actually getting ready to design a tongue-mount over the propane tanks rack for 2 Honda EU2000i generators.
I've got ideas - will post pics with progress and final results.

Being that close to the propane tanks, maybe you can go to dual fuel and use propane or gas...

Is there any issue regarding tongue weights when you mount generators on the tongue? We had to be careful with the Jeep in that regard (only 350 pounds) but probably no problem with pickups. They also caution about mounting even a bike rack on an RV bumper, best to use the trailer frame.

Stromberg Carlson sells a tray that mounts above the propane tanks.

Since you own a fab shop it should be easy to copy the design.

Propane conversion
Yep - Already converted both generators to be run off gas or propane. Easy install, great design. Fast install and it works. I particularly like that the design bypasses the Honda "off" switch and allows the generators to run until the fuel in the line and carb is mostly empty. May still be a bit of residue in the bowl, but when using gas or switching back and forth, this might reduce the possibility of gumming.

Pricey - but good. Runs smooth in regular or eco mode!
Have a short video but not sure how to upload.

here is a dumb question i am sure. we are going to borrow my brothers generator...1000w gas- honda i think - and anyway, so i think it just has a 110 normal plug. our plus is 30 am from the trailer. do i not plug the trailer right into the generator???? Maybe I shoud find the 30 amp thingy that makes the trailer plug to into a 110 deal?? Thanks!

Are you referring to a 'thingy' like this?
https://www.amazon.com/Arcon-13993-A...o+110v+adapter
If you draw more power than the 110 receptical is fused for, you will trip the gen breaker.

1000 watts won't power much. Are you sure it's only 1000? Even s 2000 watt won't power an air conditioner. What are you going to use it for. Can he give you instructions on how to use it?

An adapter like Eagle posted is what you need. They should be available at a lot of places even Walmart. You just plug your 30 A shore power cord into the adapter and then into the generator output.
As Michigan Traveler said it won't power a lot, but it will give you enough to run the lights, charge cell phones or laptaps run the television and recharge the trailer battery. Not the AC though.
