Default Has anyone tried "The Super Tube" sewer hose storage?

Hi all,

We're moving from a "regular" travel trailer with a rear bumper to an XT-200 toy hauler with no rear bumper. That means that the typical storage location for the sewer hose isn't there. I came across this: https://www.thefitrv.com/rv-tips/bes...he-super-tube/ and thought it might be a good idea.

Has anyone ever tried it? On a toy hauler? I'd love to get some feedback before I plunk down $85.

Thanks!

I have not seen this before. It looks pretty neat. My only caution would be to perhaps add a strap or some type of support in the middle (because in isn't a solid tube) just to prevent the possibility of any future sag due to road-shake.

Good idea. I did order one, and when the snow melts here in VT (July, at this rate), I'll get it installed.

A number of years ago, I stopped at Home Depot and picked up a PVC square sleeve that goes over a 5x5 post and end caps.

Here: Veranda 5 in. x 5 in. x 8 ft. White Vinyl Fence Post-116004 - The Home Depot

I mounted it under the camper, glued a end cap on one end and the other end setu[ for the end cap to be removable.

Works great, hoses and assy elbows/etc. all fit fine.

The square post cover was easy to mount with plumbers strapping.

Are you sure you don't have a hose storage unit. Mine is in front of the wheel under the left side of the trailer in a black 6 inch dia. PVC pipe. Did not notice it until I was playing around with the wheel brakes.

My toy hauler has the black tube the cheap plastic sewer hose came in but it's to small for the elbow or bayonet end to fit into.....so is pretty useless IMO unless you want to install and remove the end fittings from the hose every time.

Well, I'm NOT sure. I can't look now but I will definitely look when we get it out.

Thanks!

I wonder what year that 189 FBS was because it had a bumper. My 2010 189FBR does not have a bumper. When did the stop putting them on?

Thanks for sharing this! I did buy the "Super-Tube", but if that fails, I like your idea.
