I carry a Honda EU2000i generator and the companion for those boondocking days when there's just not enough solar to run the A/C. When those 2 generators are hooked up together with the parallel cables they push 4000watts, 30Amps of power.
So-that means carrying gasoline. And if I run them for an extended period of time (or share my generator), I have the extra gas tank that allows extended run time.
I just converted both generators to propane. The kit I selected is well-engineered. It allows the flexibility to use gasoline or propane. It modifies the generators to allow them to run until the fuel lines are empty of gasoline. (Unmodified, the generator will immediately shut-off when turned off, leaving gas in the lines.)
When you switch to propane, the last bit of gas in the carburetor bowl is burned out. Nice-it means less risk of leftover gas evaporating and gumming everything up.
The generators run smooth, at idle and under load. Another plus in the design, is the propane regulators are mounted at the propane tank, not to the generator. A hose leads to a quick disconnect at the generator. It's a great design. You can buy a "Y" connector and run both generators from the same propane tank.
I requested, and received a longer hose so I can hook up to my camper's propane tanks and use them while placing the generators on the ground. No-you can't hook them up to the BBQ's low pressure hose at the back of the camper. Not enough propane pressure to run the generators.

I get no reward for recommendations, just sharing a great product. Not cheap, but good products usually aren't.
