Default Removal of Black Water Tank on T-139

Have 2006 Fund Finder T-139. Black Water tank is leaking from outside underneath where the dump valve exits the trailer bottom plate. No leak detected inside the bath stall. How do you remove Black Water tank to inspect for and repair leaks?

Default An easier possibility

On my old 2003 T-139, I had a black tank leak, too, and did not want to remove it -- too hard. So I filled the tank with water, got a bright light and a mirror, and couldn't see anything. I had to cut an access hole under the back of the bathroom, inside the trailer, at the back of the trailer, so I could see.

Turns out it was a crack where the black tank outlet joined the tank. I then got some two-part marine epoxy putty and reached in and jammed it into the crack. Problem solved. Not fun, not easy, but better than taking out the whole tank, I am sure.

Nowadays, they sell these remote video cameras with flexible wands for plumbing inspection -- not too expensive, really. That would have been a big help!

We had a small leak at the joint of the black water pipe where it exits the bottom of the trailer. It was not in the trailer...just underneath. I was able to use some ABS cement to weld the joint shut without having to disconnect anything. It's still leak free for 3 years now.

If your leak is coming from the pipe you might be able to 'patch' it the same way without cutting anything.

Great thread, looks like an access hole needs to be created to get in from under the trailer. Thanks for the tips from many years ago.
