Well a porcelain toilet will do two things. First it will weight about 20 times more than the plastic one that came with the trailer. Secondly, it will use 10 times more water per flush. If the weight is not important then the water might be if you are not using full hookup.

Look at the Thetford Aqua-Magic Style II. This is an RV toilet. The bowl is china but everything else is plastic. Weighs more but not a lot. Cleans better. Just be certain you check measurements etc.

Default new dumper

So i got my new Thetford 2 high china bowl toilet... and the install was relatively painless. I did have to use 3 90dgree shark bites for the water inlet pipe. other than that , it works great and is much more comfortable. It didn't seem THAT much heavier .. besides the trade off in weight is worth it for comfort . Pics to follow...

We replaced our unreliable factory toilet with a Aqua-Magic V RV Toilet Hand Flush / High Profile / White - Thetford 31667 from Amazon. We couldn't be happier and it was only~$100. No more problems and comfortable, if you know what I mean!

Given how seldom we use it since we camp where faculties are available, it's simply not worth replacing as long as it works. Besides, my bathroom is just not big enough to really use it unless there is an emergency.

I have looked at those thinking since we have high profile toilets at home, the camper one seems very low.
I haven't jumped as believe for the amount of use, we get by fine with the factory toilet.
We usually camp where there are full hookups; elect/water/sewer/cable, etc. but NEVER use the public restroom or showers.
Also avoid hotels/motels due to some with unsanitary conditions & many with bedbug infestations. The other half's nephew got all kinds of bed bug bites when staying in a "high end" Las Vegas hotel.

We consider the Thetford to be one of our best $100 RV purchases because our original had a multipiece construction that started to smell due to internal pooh accumulation. Disgusting! Add to that the original valve was temperamental/unreliable. It was a Win-Win-Win to get rid of the original. We saw no reason to spend more money on a porcelain one.

We just replaced our plastic round toilet with the Dometic 320. It has an elongated porcelain bowl. I love it. It will be a priority or an immediate replacement when/if we buy another unit. BTW, we ordered the one with the attached sprayer- love that too.
Replacement was pretty easy.

For what purpose is the sprayer?

It is great for rinsing the bowl when needed.
