Default Weight rating on rear top bunk X-160?

Hi all, the previous owner had permanently raised the rear bunk and used it for storage with a cargo net in front. I believe they also removed the sticker that would have shown the weight rating, can see some residue where it looks to have been. We have 3 kids so needed to return the bunk to its original spot.

It seems a little lighter duty than the bunk in the front over the dinette which states weight limit of 210 pounds.

Anyone know how much weight that bunk will support?

Thanks!
-Linc

My 2002 has a sticker that states 140 lbs. In 2004 they changed it to 210 lbs.
See 2002 T-160 Actual Specs for all the specs.

Thanks for the quick response PieGuy!

That top rear bunk on my TT is supported by short white L brackets at the head and foot and a hinge that runs most of the length along the wall above the window. I remember now that it looks like there should also be an L bracket on the short length of wall opposite the closet/radio/TV location that is missing on mine. Does yours have that L bracket?

Thanks again!

Be careful though, I put four "poster supports" under each corner... It's a but scary if someone is going to be sleeping beneath, and the brackets fail.

my 2002 doesn't have a bracket by the closet. If I was going to have someone close 200 lbs I would want a center support or some type of additional post/bracket on the ends or at least by the closet.
I read a post (can't find it of course) by the author of the specs that I posted above. He stated that his son slept up there and he was close to 200 lbs.

I found the most informative t-60 page.
Dr. Wes Leggett RV is the whole site
The page about sleeping arrangements is:
Dr. Wes Leggett RV

This is from his posting.
"I napped several times on the bunk during our first year of use without a problem, and at that time I weighed 100 lbs MORE than the 140 lb rated capacity! (After relaying my experience to the folks at Shadow Cruiser, they did some of their own testing and upped the bunk rating to 210 lb without any structural modifications)."

Interesting, thanks PieGuy, greatly appreciated! It seems to me to be a bit 'flexy' when pulling down on the middle or watching someone climb up into it. It's probably fine for a while and not something to worry about, my kids at this point weigh ~90, ~125 and ~145

Mine says 75# for that back bunk and 210# for the front over the dinette, hopefully they are not getting confused on which is which.

Thanks. Yeah, it looks like some of the posts may be about that front 210 lb bunk. Does your rear upper bunk have a sticker on it that shows that rating?

The bunk in question is the one in the first photo below near the rear of the camper, not the one in front with the kids in it in second photo.

Thanks again all!

Yes mine has the sticker but I'm not near it. I also put mine to a pantry, I use collapsing crates and break them down so that if a smaller child is with us they can use it. I know I read 75# on it, but I'll verify soon.
You can see my top bunk in the back

Default I did find this, so I'll need to really look at mine cuz now I am wondering.....

2002 T-160 Actual Specs: Measurements and Capacities

Dinette Overhead Bunk: 38” x 82” x 21” 140 lb. Weight Limit (2004 models began offering 210 lb. weight limit)
Couch: 75 ½” x 24” x 18 ½” (32” headroom when Bunk is down) (2004 models began offering thicker seat cushions reducing headroom to 31”)
Couch Overhead Bunk: 75 ½” x 23 ½” x 22 ½” 115 lb. Weight Limit (2005 models began offering 210 lb. weight limit)

I assume it depends on model, mine might have a smaller back cabinet which makes it less stable than yours. Layout might have a huge difference.

We just got back from camping. The sticker on the couch bunk states 115 lbs.
