Default X189FBR Part

Hi everyone,

I just call my locall RV store, I was looking for 2 parts for my Fun Finder X but it look difficult to have the right pars event if I have the model and years of fabrication of my Fun Finder. I would like to keep it as OEM as possible.

- First is the glass on the light under my awning.

- Second is the exit of my oven fan.

Look at the attachement.

Thanks!

Don't know about the light, but the infamous "fan flap" often falls off. I did not replace mine! I just covered the inside opening with window screen. So the vent is open all year, which is very refreshing in freezing weather.

Not sure about the lense for the light. Sometimes it's easier to simply replace the fixture with one that covers the same space and maybe is an LED?
As for the exterior vent - yep - it's really easy to lose the damper flapper if you don't secure it before towing. You can buy the whole assembly: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Or - you can buy just the damper. It's a bit of a pain to get the damper "tabs" in the slots without removing the whole assembly. I ended up breaking off a tab, then slipped the damper in the vent, mixed some epoxy and used a nail - slid it in to place, held for about 5 minutes and good to go.

I fixed my vent with a piece of sheet aluminum and duct tape.

The original supplier of the FF lighting was Command Electronics. I don't see that light on their website, but you might try giving them a call.

Just replace the whole light fixture. You can get them at Etrailer.com
Or on Amazon.

I needed those same parts, and both should be delivered today. Got both parts on Amazon, the vent though the link above and the light here: https://www.amazon.com/Lumitronics-R...omotive&sr=1-3

When installing the parts, do you just use the same clear silicone sealant you would use on your house or is there specific stuff made for RV use?

Don't use silicone. You need to use a butyl caulk such as Dicor or Proflex or similar. For the roof you need a self leveling type and for the walls a non-sag.
The problem with silicone is that over time when it cracks or pulls away from whatever it's sealing you can't seal over it since nothing will stick to it, even new silicone. So you would have to remove it which is next to impossible.
Here's a link to Proflex: https://www.geocelusa.com/product/pr...xible-sealant/
You can probably find a cheaper price if you shop around.

I'm a big fan of the 2 main kinds of Dicor. The non-sag lap sealant is great for vertical surfaces around trim, windows, etc. The self-leveling is great on the roof. It kind of blobs on a screw head or around a vent cover, then starts its self-leveling magic by flattening out and covering seams and gaps!

I actually modified the original flap. After the plastic swing tabs broke off, I super glued a steel rod along the top that extended out on either edge about a 1/2 inch. The extended rod ends now act as the swing tabs. It will never break again.

Could you post a picture of what you did? Mine needs the whole flap.... it is on my project list. I want to improvise rather than purchasing a new flap.

I think i used 1/16 music wire and CA glued it to the top edge of the flap. Then I roughed up the top sides of flap with sand paper and CA glued some 1 inch wide nylon cloth over the wire and to both sides of the flap to permanently secure the wire to the flap. Once dry I reinstalled the flap cover into the holes of the frame by gently boeing the flap. You may to trim off some of the wire ends to gain clearance during the installation.
