I keep track of how much fuel I use towing by cost per hour. 2 years ago I was around $20 /hr. Now I am $ 25 to 26 thanks to our carbon tax and low oil prices. That's a whole different story, don't get me started. Lol. I don't worry about the cost of fuel it is just more curiosity than anything. I tow a 2015 210uds 4000 lb dry weight with a 2014 Silverado with a 9100 lb towing capacity. The biggest factor is wind resistance like mentioned before. Weight just adds to it. Silverado

You pull running 85 MPH?
You do most factory mounted camper tires have a speed rating of 65 MPH.
Obviously you have replaced the factory camper tires with Goodyear Endurance or Maxxis that are speed rated accordingly. ?

We pull our 189FBS with a '08 Tundra SR5 w/tow pkg. 5.7L.
I thought we would do better on our recent trip from Saskatoon, SK to Jasper, AB (1800km) on fuel than we did, but we avg'd right around 10-11 mpg. Not great, but Tundra's are generally pretty heavy on fuel. We also traveled at 70mph all the way out there.
I find this little FF tends to tow heavy. I really don't have a lot of weight up front and everything is stock on this unit, but I might as well be pulling a 25+ft camper, as I'm sure the mpg's would be the same.

I know this is an old link, but for those 189 fbs and 189 fds owners out there, on my last trip towing my 2009 Funfinder 189fbs I got 13 mpg. It was a 330 mile trip from Klamath Falls, Oregon to Minden, Nevada. I tow with a 2018 Nissan Frontier 4x4 and kept the speed at 55-58 mph.
