Default Electric brakes?

I'm having trouble trying to determine if the 2006 X-160 has brakes. The owners manual is useless, but the brochure for this year says that is a standard feature on the x-160. My husband says there is an emergency braking system on the trailer, but I'm guessing this is the electric braking system and that if your vehicle is equipped for that this will work? We've been pulling with an F-150 that has a tow package, but not the braking system so I am clueless when it comes to this. Any help would be appreciated!

Do you have a trailer brake hooked up in your truck ?(looks like a radar detector .)
You should ,and when you ajust it you can tell if brakes are working.
I have one like this ,you put the % of braking you would like.
I like 15% around town and trafic and usually run at 20% on long trips with no stoping.
It also brakes when stopping sharply to what ever it needs up to a panic lockup.

Yeah, I've seen those, but we don't have one in the truck. So you're saying the x-160 does have brakes if our vehicle was properly equipped?

It has to have them. look behind the brake drums there should be wires.

Do to have a 7 prong plug ,some trucks have the blue wire for trailer brake hooked up to plug but cut off under dash(a cluster red ,black and blue.) for easy hookup, otherwise you have to run a wire to the plug.
