Default Window Improvement

So-this year's shakedown weekend trip revealed a leak in the front window. It's a 2012 210UDS so it's seen a few heat/cold cycles. Removal was pretty easy. The seal was a thin foam gasket. It's been compressed and if you ask me, wasn't the right choice for an exterior gasket, exposed to water/cold/heat and vibration. So I'm going to replace with butyl seal tape, trim any excess and then add a bead of Dicor non-sag sealant. Should do the job!

That sounds like a good solution. We have similar window on ours. I’m interested that it worked well! I assume you have the rock protective cover that goes over it also.

Yep - it is hinged and attached to the exterior of the window frame. It's easiest to remove the window if you close the rock guard and lock it. Then push from the inside to "break" the adhesive seal. Then I went outside and pulled around the window from frame to completely separate it. I was a one-man job. But to put it in, nice and square, I'll have someone hold it in place while I put in the interior frame and tighten the screws.

Regardless of brand/model, it seem those with a front window often have leak issues....from what I've read on various RV forums.
