I needed it mounted as far forward as possible so my Harley would fit. In order to do that, there was no metal cross brace underneath in the 'right' location.

It is bolted thru the plywood with the addition of a flat piece of 1/4" steel about 12" long and 7" wide placed underneath for the bolts to go thru before putting on the lockwashers and nuts.

The metal piece helps spread the support strength of the plywood.

EDIT TO ADD: HINT: When under the unit, be sure to tighten and maybe double nut the nuts that hold the tie downs. None of mine were very tight from the factory.

Years ago I purchased a Battery Charger from Wal-Mart. The brand is "Schumacher" and the model is "Speed Charger". Really didn't know much about it other than I needed a battery charger. It doesn't say anything on it about being a "maintainer" but it does say that it is microprocessor controlled and charges based on the sensed voltage. In November of 2011, I took the battery out of our boat for the winter. The next spring my wife and I started traveling, got the bug and are now on our third Travel Trailer. The boat battery has been connected to that charger since 2011. Periodically, I'd check the case for warmth and gassing as well as fluid level. Nothiing ever seemed to be out of line so I basically ignored it. I've never had to add any fluid to it. Then just recently, it occured to me that we hadn't used the boat in almost 3 years. I cleaned it up, put an ad on BoatTrader.com and the phone started ringing. I put the battery back in and the motor cranked right up and everything electrical works in the boat. Guy in Florida will be up this Wednesday to pick it up. So, I guess it's safe to say these types of battery chargers do well in prolonged service.

"Schumacher" is one of the better battery charger units on the market and they have been in the business for decades and decades, since 1947. They make many different models and not only battery chargers.

That's really cool ... it's nice to know I do something right now and then

Thanks for the links ... I'm sure others can benefit from my experience and your knowledge

Come to think of it, I've been on the market for about the same time so they must be good
