Default Retirement Day is Here

August 24 will be my last day working at Pfizer. In two weeks, my wife and I will be hitting the road in our Highlander pulling our travel trailer. The destination is the Upper Peninsula of Michigan

You will enjoy it. My last work day was January 2012 ..... but the wife has a few years to go yet.

I know some are bored to death in 6 months ~ maybe because their whole life was work w/no outside interests/activities. Some of those have gone back to work until they get put into the ground.

Since I've retired, I'm busier than when I was working.

So very many things to do and so little time.

:-O

We are semi-retired -- almost as good as fully retired. For the next few years, I teach in the Spring semester, and we travel in the Summer and Fall.

But full time fun sure sounds good to me!

Congrats! We still have a few years to go, DH sooner than me, though! Can't wait! Enjoy and explore while you can!

Ditto the Congrats... I retired early in 2008 and the next day we left on a road trip to Texas and on to Florida. Including that trip, we have logged about 30,000 miles pulling our TT. We recently upgraded to a FF189FBR. We just finished our 2nd short trip with it. On two of our trips, we drove from WA state around Lake Michigan, stopping in Traverse City to visit our daughter. We took our time...ha. We took 20 days to get there and 21 to get home. 2nd trip was about the same but different route. MI is a lovely state, but you have to love mosquito spray.

Congratulations!!We are both retired. Me first, then Paul a couple of years ago. We never think about our old jobs anymore. Retired to a home between Manistee and Cadillac. So much to do here. Problem is deciding what...hiking, motorcycling, kayaking or traveling with the Fun Finder. Just got back from Tahquamenon Falls Thursday and heading for a 10 day trip around the UP next Friday. Retiring with your mate does take some adjustment. The togetherness can get to be a bit much at times. Lol! But better than the alternative!!!

PS...where are you camping? Maybe we will cross paths. We will be at Colwell Lake Federal Park then Fort Wilkins then McClain then Fayette and then Hartwick Pines in the Lower one night on our way home.
