Default Safety flares in your vehicle

Since I do travel on 2 lane highways frequently, I purchased a three set of safety flares that I carry in my vehicle....just in case of a flat tire or breakdown. Anyone else carry safety flares of any type?

Like these:

Amazon.com: Wagan EL2639-3 FRED Flashing Roadside Emergency Disc LED Flare, (Pack of 3): Automotive

Probably just a 'carry over' from when I did commercial trucking but safety first.

Great idea! I have flares in my truck but I just realized they are not easily accessible -- that is not going to do me any good in an emergency. Yesterday, there was a person killed near my house as he was standing by the side of the freeway after an accident -- maybe flares placed on the side of the road would have warned the oncoming drivers to slow down.

I have a roadside emergency kit that I picked up somewhere along the way. Has a couple of flares - the kind the burn - and a reflective triangle, plus a few basic tools that I probably won't ever use as I have a better tool kit. I should probably check the dates on the flares though.

I had considered a pack of flares that burn as they were pretty cheap but did not like the possibility of starting a fire with them.

I carry a set of triangles and a good sized fire extinguisher in one of the truck bed tool boxes. Plus several flashlights of varying power.
