Ideas To Clean Updow Seals

My window seals have some ugly mildew looking spots on them. Any suggestions on how to clean them? I've tried bleach spray and lacquer thinner. Neither have worked. I called Cruiser and they don't sell the seals for an 06 any more, so cleaning them is my first choice. Thanks

If it's mildew, have you tried a shower curtain cleaner or awning cleaner?

Don't know if it would work but made to eliminate mold & mildew. ;-)

I'm not sure if it's mildew or not. If I scrape it with a fingernail, nothing comes off. I'm going to try some Tilex and see if that works. Someone suggested painting it if all elsa fails.

I would not paint it. These are rubber seals, right? The paint will flake when the seals flex in the heat.

Have you tried 409 or Simple Green, full strength? Wear gloves -- don't ask me how I know this.

We replaced all of the vinyl trim around our cargo bays etc. with new. It covers the screws and fits into a channel. But I'm not sure if your trim is the same. They make several different widths and profiles. It certainly made it look better. Available at RV dealers or online.

p139 - I haven't tried any of those cleaners. having thought about it, painting is not an option.

mtraveler - Any idea on where to look online? Places I've talked to say they don't carry anything that big.

From your photo I can't tell how wide it is. Do you have the width?

I'll have to check it when I get home. I know that they are Hehr windows and 3 of them are 37 x 23 (frame size)

Do you think that white trim is actually part of the window? Or added at the factory?
I did see some that was just over an inch. We unlucky used 3/4".
Here is contact info for Hehr also:

MT - I'm sure they are the factory seals. I'll contact Hehr and see if they can help.
