Washing my '09 189FDS

My all the product literature, LOL, that came with my unit was a small brochure about the roof sheeting. The brochure recommended Murphys Oil Soap for the roof. I just put about 2 oz MOS in a three...

While doing some early season maintenance on my FF-189 with the battery disconnect switch "on" (meaning the electrical system was disconnected), I decided to test the trailer breakaway switch. Much...

As LJAZ and others point out, there's a few lemons in any trailer line and you are most likely to see posts regarding those trailers. I bought my 2009 FF189FDS new and have never had a major problem....

Slide leak

My slide has trim pieces completely around the outside face. They are arranged exactly as a picture frame would surround a picture. The bottom trim piece was not completely caulked on the top edge....

Two years and counting

I notice that it's been two years since my original post above. The slide leak has never returned so it is possible to fix these things yourself. I'm still cleaning silicone residue off the slide...

Power connections

You're on the right track. I've seen campgrounds where the power box is almost 50' away and directly behind my campsite. Same with the water faucet . I suppose the campground thinks we all plug into...

Water filter

When I got my new FF-189 it came with a "spare" water filter. When I looked closely at the hoses around the water pump and and water heater, I noticed that a connection had been provided for a...

Matching cabinet doors

I've had good luck calling Cruiser RV directly but they may refer you back to the dealer. Probably not a bad idea since there are so many shades of white.

Jacking for a flat

A lot depends on the local terrain where you have the flat, but driving the other wheel on the same side as the flat onto four Lynx levelers (about 4" high) will get the flat high enough. BUT, make...

Mid-Atlantic Meetup

To attract mid-Atlantic owners, I would suggest Shenandoah National Park. It has three major campgrounds with no hookups(small bummer), but relatively large, and level, campsites. It's convenient to...

FF Gatherings

I've had the FF 189 for two years now. The first year we put on 8,000 miles and over 70 nights. So far this year we've put on about 3,000 miles and 35 nights. All without a serious problem despite...

Towing Mirrors

I bought one of the (relatively) expensive ratchet types from Pep Boys and it blew off (apologies to the guy in the Taurus). Now I use one of the cheap strap-on variety, but I've modified it to fit...

12v socket

SBB, what do you use the 12v socket for? The fan? Also, is the solar panel permanently mounted on the roof? Where? I'm thinking about a solar panel for my FF.

New FF-160

Welcome to the forum. If you're new to RVing I recommend a short overnight shake-down cruise to a local park, or even spend a night or two in your FF-160 parked in the driveway. That should give you...
