We tried to grease the suspension often to reduce wear. However, some of the zerks often resisted taking grease. Then, I jacked up the camper, and was very surprised at how much wear the bushings...

I agree sounds like the water tank supports. Assuming you have some water in your tank, try pushing up on the fabric to see if you can feel a tank underneath. If you feel something hard under the...

What did you use to remove the decals?

On our trailer, the red and silver decals still look fairly good, but the orange one are faded and pealing.

Has anyone found replacement "swooshes"?

Our 2008 came with a camper mounted grill, but it was cumbersome in size and slow in performance. We got rid of it and removed mounting rack from camper. As far as safety, ours was mounted under...

We have run Marathons for 4 years without problems and am guessing about 8,000 miles. I wish they were American made but they are not.

I have experimented with rear mount bike racks for some time. I am now of the opinion that mounting a bike rack in any manner on the back of most campers risks damaging both the bikes and the camper.

extra outlets

This post also motivated me to finally add an outlet in the counter top area, mostly to plug in additional lighting.
There are 5 - 120 volt circuits in our camper, but only one is protected by a GFI...

Outlet

Marti,
The outlet in the cabinet above the sink is likely for a microwave oven. Electrical codes often specify a microwave must be on a separate circuit, which may be why it only has one outlet...

towing capacity

As you can see by our signature, we tow with a Silverado 1500 with 3.42 gears. Our camper is smaller than what you are looking at. It pulls pretty well on the flatlands and in good conditions, but...

lug nut

HI,

I think you may have a lug nut that failed. Our camper had lug nuts that were manufactured in 2 parts and were very prone to separation and also to deformation when trying to remove the nuts....

hitch

Hi,
I see you tow with a pickup. You may want to consider using a long enough hitch shank so you can open your tailgate without bashing into the trailer jack. Anderson may have a variety of...

Hi Gatorlady,

Congratulations on your new camper!

Our camper has a main disconnect fuse in the cable going from the battery to the breaker box in inside the camper. The fuse is located...

Questions

Hi again,

You do not need to have water in your fresh water tank to run your water heater if you have water coming into the system from the hose.

When we are camping, we will use the "city...

water fill and water heater

Hi,

Filling fresh water:
Yes, the water tank is filled from the outside of the camper. The filler is usually close to the city water connection. It likely will be a hinged round cover about the...

Sway

We have an Equal-I-Zer hitch and like it. It is a little more expensive but it is American made which we think is important.

long trailer - another factor

RDSR6,

I have not pulled a trailer of that length, but I have been told that longer trailers are more subject to sway than shorter ones, especially with a side wind.

generator storage

Hi,

We carry the generator and gas cans in the back of the pickup, so no issue with fumes. I note our Honda EU2000i generator does have a manual shut off valve on the gas cap to limit gas spills...

sherrb,

Our unit is stored for the winter where I can't get at it, and I am not sure I can remember exactly how it looks. However, I think both the top and lower horizontal valves are open...

winterizing issues

I think your camper is about the same as ours, so hopefully the following will help:

1 and 3. The bypass valves for the water heater and the 2 low point drains are accessed by opening the right...

If you do pull the new camper with the 2014 gas Ram, please post how the mileage compared to pulling your smaller trailer with that same truck.
Thanks,

hitches

Hi,

I am not an expert, but I would do some checking before buying a hitch rated at 10,000/750. for your application. There are some downsides to such a stiff hitch on a lighter trailer, which...

We have a Swagman 2 bike bumper mount set up also. Our 210WBS had a 1'" receiver hitch on it for a bike rack when we bought it, which had a bad pendulum action when a bike rack was attached. We...

Based on my experience towing with full sized pickups, I would agree with LJAZ that the Liberty might be on the small side. I don't know the Liberty specs either, but can see they are fairly short. ...

On many campers, if the grey tank gets full, the overflow goes into the bathtub. Will this happen with the black and grey tanks connected together?
