Dent in upper front of 16 ft trailer

I just bought the 160 16 ft trailer . It had a big dent in the front and was told it hit a tree. I'm thinking now I don't think it did . Can anybody tell me any information about this ? The dent looks like it's right where the front meets the roof then down a ways on the side of the front window . Wondering if it should be fixed ? Or will it just stay like it is already . It does t matter to us for looks , but we plan on a long trip cross country and don't want any problems . Also does anybody know if the front bunk is made to be there is it a brace for the front ? Or if it can be taken out as we will never use it .

as for the dent it shouldn't be there...my x160 doesn't have a dent...

i took my front bunk apart and kept the wider portion in place and use it for my pots and pans, plates, tupperware , etc. works perfectly
and the upper brackets that are on the wall i put a piece of dowling (curtain rod would work if long enough) across for hanging my towel or wet clothes until dry

i live full time in mine so have to make the best of the space i have

there is some other posts about taking the bunk apart...but if i can do it , anyone can !!!

Thanks billet for the information . Can I ask what you are pulling the 160 with ? And gas mileage ?

i'm using a dodge dakota with a 318 v-8 (5.2l) and i figure i get about 12-14 mi per gal pulling the trailer(it is a light trailer compared to a 18 or 19 footer)...in b.c. we have lots of ups and downs (mountains and valleys) and it pulls just fine

Can you see the dent from inside the trailer?

We took our bunk out. I'm not sure what you mean by a brace. There is a metal edge, like an aluminum angle iron, that held up the bunk. I haven't taken it out yet, but I will.

Yes I can see the dent from the inside . I was told trailer was hit by a tree. We are worried it was dented from wind down the road . I don't mind the looks of the dent. Just worried it would get worse driving high speed down road . So was thinking the bunk on top might be there to work as a. Race for the front . If not would like it out as we will never use it . Or take half of it out and use other half for storage .

Hard to say without seeing it. My concern would be that it cracked a frame piece and the roof would eventually start to sag. I'd get it checked out by someone who knows what they are doing.

Are you sure it's not delamination? That can look like a dent.

The front bunk says to drive with it up, if you remove half of it would it cause issues down the road? I don't use mine for sleeping but I did use it for our sleeping bags pillows and bags when we were camping, this way we could use the front dinette as a bed and hang out reading or playing cards etc. w/o all our stuff all over. I also figured for resale I would want to have it in case a family looking for something small would benefit if their family grew w/o having to sell right away. Personally we don't need it either, but if a friend came along it would come in handy.
