Default Cannot wait!!!

We are driving over to Iowa in July to pick up our FFX215 (long story) anyway, we are newbies and are looking forward to enjoying our way back to Washington (state) stopping on the way at all the little quirky roadside attractions. We will be taking I90 so any suggestions for campgrounds or stops would be highly appreciated

Welcome to the forums SonyaandJethro, Congrats on the TT and a real road trip with it from the get go. For quirky, catch the Corn Palace at Mitchell SD and Mt. Rushmore is a must see if you haven't been there before. The last time we were at Mt. Rushmore was on a motorcycle trip to Billings MT but there were several large motor homes and travel trailers in the more than ample parking lots. Be ready for strong cross winds in SD. Good luck and enjoy your trip.

Along I-90 in South Dakota

1, Mitchell SD = The Corn Palace/Cabelas

2. Murdo SD = nice car museum

3. Wall Drug is a must stop

4. The Badlands (entrance off I-90 by Wall Drug)

5. The Black Hills (Mt. Rushmore/Spearfish Canyon/Homestake open pit mine/Deadwood = a few of many sites)

Enjoy your trip.

Default Thanks for the tips...

I appreciate all the suggestions...unfortunately, we got waylaid in Iowa with a broken tie rod on our truck before we even hooked-up to the trailer. It cost us a whole extra week of vacation so we will be rushing back across the states to get home in 6 days It will be a quick trip but we are still planning on stopping in at some sites along the way. Hope everything else goes well for the rest of the trip, keep your fingers crossed.
