Default Checking In.

Wife and i bought a 25r and picked it up this past weekend. This is our third since 2013. Our first was bought as temp housing after a fire destroyed out home. After rebuilding we sold it, and bought a 17ft travel trailer in 2017, so we could join our kids on their trips. Great trailer, but too small, but with work vehicle doubling as tow vehicle, that was as much as I wanted to tow. Late last year, I bought a Dodge Ram 2500, 4wd 5spd, and we upgraded to the 25R. Love the unit, dealership leaves much to be desired. Great prices, horrible service after the sale, the walk thru didn't reveal a list of small problems to deal with, but I'll most likely deal with what I can myself, given previous experience with our 17 ft'er.
Anyway, looking forward to gleaning info about maintenance, and how others have set up similar trailers.

Welcome! It sounds like you are already well-equipped to deal with whatever arises -- but if you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

Should do well.
I love my Ram 2500 4x4, Automatic w/6.4 cranking out 410 horses. They have an easy time pulling my 30' toy hauler.
Enjoy!

Thanks. I love that Dodge, gas mileage aside, such smooth pulling power. I've had heavy materials to haul this week, and have enjoyed the time behind the wheel. My previous truck, an 89 F250, had a 460 4wd 4:10 gears, and a 3 speed auto. Would love to drive that truck with the same 5 sp as is in the Dodge.

What engine in your Ram?
My 6.4 gets about 15 running 70-80 MPH empty. (Interstate speed limit here is 80)
Pulling the toy hauler varies some with wind that always blows... 9 - 11 MPG.

Sorry, fell of the face of the Earth there for a bit.... My Dodge has the V10, gets 11-12 unloaded. Having an issue with the battery connections on our trailer, going to look for the appropriate forum to ask a question.

I ran a V-10 '94 Ram 2500 4x4 for 8-9 years. Purchased used w/34,000 miles. First thing I did was put in a K&N air filter and install Bora exhaust. Had the dealer re-set the computer for the alterations. Made a world if difference!
Running empty at 80 MPH gave 18 MPG consistently and would pull anything I hooked to with ease. I loved that engine!
