We bought a new-to-me 2009 XT245 toy hauler that seems to be in pretty decent shape overall. Towed it home about 300 miles alongside Lake Ontario and the Seaway. It towed easily and was fun behind the truck.

I'm a writer and photographer and semi-retired engineer and will be using it to haul entirely too much stuff back and forth to the Keys as well as a base for photo expeditions.

Welcome! Sounds wonderful that you can "take your work with you" and enjoy the great outdoors! Hope you have many great travels. Ask questions, everyone has probably " been there, done that" and will certainly hive you good advice. Post pics if you can, we (I) love to see everyone's adventures!⛺️

I'm hoping the work part isn't too work like but I have mounted a clock, gotten the battery circuits working, removed one gaucho, figured out the radio and TV, and (finally) found the breaker panel.

Yeah, I knew I should look behind the fridge.

What is a gaucho? I'm picturing a South American cowboy wondering where he is. lol

Marti, AFAICT, "gaucho" has become the generic term for an uncomfortable couch that makes into an uncomfortable bed with a droopy moustache. In some (like these in some Funfinders), the seat pulls out and the back flops down. Others have a back that flips over the seat. In either case, it makes a lumpy bed that is shorter and wider than a twin.

This one in a toy hauler can then lift up flat against the wall to open the floor up for stuff. Or dancing.

Gotcha. When people ask how many can sleep in our FF, I tell them the specs said 5, but that didn't mean comfortably. lol
