Default Hello from newbies

Hi there everyone! My wife and I are trailer newbies and we need your help. We have a 2009 Fun Finder. I finally figured out how to run the refrigerator...I think, but now the stovetop is warm. Is this normal? I am assuming that since it runs on gas, turning on the gas probably automatically started the pilot light but just want to make sure. Any help sure is appreciated. Thanks!

Are you sure you have a pilot light on the stove?? Ours does not -- we have to use a lighter.

I would turn off the propane and unscrew the stovetop and look around -- see if there is a pilot light.

Never saw a cook top with a pilot light. Do you have an oven?

There is def NOT any pilot light inside (or out) of your trailer! Yikes!

Everything will require a manual lighting of some kind, or with a built in "sparker".

The warmth is not normal, and should be investigated. However, there maybe some common venting with the fridge, maybe that's where the heat is coming from.

What is the make and model of the stove top? Maybe someone has the same one and will know whats going on.

We have a 2009 X-210WBS and it definitely DOES have an oven pilot lite. Ours is inside the oven; lowest rack and has to be manually lit. Ours may not be original equipment and with the safety pilot configuration, can't leak unless a flame is present.

But that wouldn't/shouldn't explain your issue. It's never made anything on the top even warm.

Good luck - be safe!

Our x-215WSK has a pilot light exactly like the previous post.

Yes, they all have that kind of pilot light! One that has to be lit.

I was referring to the kind that stay on all the time, ready to light the main burner. Those kind of "standby" pilot lights are def not used in a camper!

Welcome aboard Scytlz and welcome to the world of trailering!!
I would check your stove and manual regarding pilot lights, especially if you did not light one. My stove didn't have an oven nor pilot lights, but it was a 2008 Toy Hauler. DiverRick suggested maybe a common vent related to the frig. you might check that as well as possible vent obstructions... just thinking.
Good luck and maybe we'll meet around a friendly campfire sometime..
