Default New to campers

Hello all. New to the forum and to travel trailers. Just picked up a 2008 189FBS for our first camper and we're loving it so far. Glad to see there's a community for the Funfinders! Tips and advice welcome. Towing with a Jeep GC 3.6L (supercharged) with factory tow package and load leveling rear shocks. Pulls it quite nicely. Our first long haul is coming up since we're moving from Upstate NY to TX soon

Thanks! We're still figuring things out, but I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions along the way!

You may have already done this, but before you do your long haul to TX, make sure the wheel bearings have been inspected and properly repacked with grease. You don't want to be half way through your trip and the wheel wields itself to the spindle. Good luck and have a safe trip.

Thanks for the heads up. We picked it up from a dealership and it was completely serviced before we picked it up. All bearings were repacked and the whole thing was inspected top to bottom to make sure it was good to go

Welcome to the forum.
What year GC? We have a Trail Hawk 3.6 w/tow package but have never pulled anything with it. How does it handle the load and MPG?

Congratulations and welcome in advance to Texas. We have a long (hot) camping season with lots of great places to camp.
