Default Wanting to purchase 189

Hello,
I'm new to this forum. We have never RV'd before. Have a 2011 Highland with tow package. Can I pull a 189 fun finder? Also would like to talk directly with someone who has one. We are in St George, Ut.
Thank you
Navyguy

189 runs about 3,155lbs dry, 5,890lbs gross. What's the Highlander rated at for towing? Probably depends on engine.
We opted for a 210UDS - about 800lbs heavier dry, 100lbs heavier gross.
There are lots of 189 owners on the boards - they'll chime in soon.
Welcome . . .

We have a 2007 189FBS, I'm guessing the FBS stands for Front Bed and the S is for the powered slide out. Anyway, we pull ours with a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac 4ltr V6 with no problems at all. At the recommendations of others and our dealer spend the extra bucks and get an anti-sway, weight distribution hitch. We did, and it was money well spend. Any other questions, I'll do my best to answer them, but I too am a bit new at this TT ownership and pulling.

Thank you for your reply. The Highlander is rated to tow 5,000lbs. It is a six cylinder, 280 hp. So if we didn't fill up with fresh water before towing that might save on weight. What kind of options might we consider. Also about what kind of mileage should we expect. Right now the Highlander gets 26 to 27mpg.
Thank you
Navy guy.

We have a 2008 189FBS and we tow it with a 2007 Toyota Tacoma.
The Tacoma tow rating is 6500 pounds, and we have no problems
pulling the Fun Finder. We use a sway bar and the Tacoma has a
rear air bag suspension system installed. Welcome to the forum.
