Default 2004 16 ft Fun Finder battery problem

Have owned 2004 16’ Fun Finder for less than year & just put in new Deep Cycle battery (same dead Interstate model that was in it when purchased). But 12v system does not work as it keeps blowing 30 amp 32 v fuse that is in line from battery up by propane tanks. Do I need a larger rated fuse or is there a short somewhere?? Or something else??

I don't know what your experience with electricity is so I will be basic in my response.

No to putting in a larger fuse. Doing this could be problematic. Nothing in your system should use 30 amps so a blown fuse is the indication of a problem.

Assuming the power system worked before the battery change, there are a myriad of possibilities to the cause of the blown fuse. The most basic question I have is, did the battery get hooked up correctly? The wire colors in at least the newer Funfinders are the opposite of the wiring found in other applications like cars. Black wires are not the ground wires. They are the power wires. The positive terminal of the battery (power wire) should be hooked to the wire with the main fuse.

Default Problem solved

N&K was exactly correct. I failed to really look at the connections when I removed the dead battery so when I put in the new one, I put the white wire with a red connector to the positive terminal. WRONG. When I did as N&K suggested & took the line with the fuse (black wire) to positive terminal, everything worked fine. Now testing refridge on 12v. Plan to remove fuse when trailer not in use. Thanks N&K

I was going to say as well on mine, there is a label telling you which wire goes where. But perhaps the label is gone on yours.
