Default Adding Dish satellite TV - anyone done this?

Adding Dish satellite TV to my camper - ordered today the Dish Playmaker PL-7000R with Wally receiver package and roof mount.

Wondering if anyone has Dish satellite and any hint/shortcuts to installation.

Thanks

Default Rewiring for satellite

I use a Dish Tailgater and really like it. I did some rewiring of my 2012 X189FBS so I could use park cable, antenna or satellite. You can find the rewiring on"Rewiring Your Coach for Satellite Use " I had a problem once when it would only work hooked direct. The problem was solved by replacing the outside coax connectors with the style that has the blue plastic center. Be sure to get the app Dish for my rv. This will use your phone camera to show you the location of the satellites. Great for helping you dodge the trees.

Pep .. thanks for the update.
My Dish system arrived the other day. Had considered doing a roof mount but since could have tree/obstruction issues, decided to go with the tripod mount so can locate wherever if needed. Also toy hauler has sloping roof except over rear garage so difficulty for level dish dome mounting.
I read up on the rewiring subject and opted to install a separate outside coax port and inside port that are RG-6 specific for 3 GHZ feed. All supplies easily found on Amazon and will be here in a few days.
I'm not big on tech stuff but SIL visiting so will have her put Dish app on my Tracphone phone and show me how to work it. Never used any apps before. Only use phone to make/take a call and maybe one or two texts a month or so. Don'[t have much else use for it - mostly an emergency thingy.

Have the satellite system installed and functioning. I put a separate satellite only coaxal port that feeds to the Wally receiver and the HDMI cable from receiver to the TV. I left the cable TV hookup/wiring intact and also the roof top over the air antenna so can use one of any three options without a bunch of wiring changes.
Used the phone app for satellite locating but not impressed as the Playmaker will search and find the 3 Dish satellites in a few minutes anyway.
The picture on the smart TV is AWESOME and better than home cable.
Looking into dumping cable and putting Dish in the house as will be only half the cost of what currently paying for package of cable/internet and unlimited phone for the same setup via Dish satellite service.....and the picture is FAR FAR superior.

As an added bonus, with Dish at home, when using the camper only costs $7 a month to add the camper for months service when using it. Simple phone call to add and then stop service.

Default Phone app usage

You will find the phone app very useful to help you dodge the trees at your campsite.

Maybe you have a different app to use. The one on my phone only shows some dots and a few degree (?) lines that mean nothing to me ... and a larger arrow that points to, I guess, a satellite. Nothing about if a signal can be picked up or ??

Is that what yours does?

Default Phone app

It only shows the satellites and you can see if there is any obstructions in your line of sight such as trees. Most places that I camp has lots of tall trees and I have to find a path through them for a clear path to the satellites.

After some searching, seems the app you use is this one:

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/dish-m...er/id409665461

Also reading about it, a cell phone has to support IOS 8 or better ~ whatever the heck that is.

Anyway, I have a cheap Trac phone Rebel LG android phone so no idea if could use that app or not. ??

Default Phone app

That is it. My I Phone IOS (I Phone Operating System) is 13.6 and it updates quite frequently.
