Default Bathroom faucet change - 189FBR

Folks,
Has anyone completed a mod where one can use a better faucet and somehow still be able use a decent hose and nozzle for the shower?
That valve system to turn on the shower is tough and also the faucet would be nice to have higher.
Thank you.

We haven't replaced the faucet but we have tried a few shower heads over the years and we like the Oxygenics White Standard 26781 Hand Held Sprayer Kit (on Amazon) the best. It feels the most like home even on the reduced pressure.

I'm not sure what year 189FBR you have, but I have a 2008 and I added a separate shower faucet (a thermostatic mixing faucet which is the BEST mod I've done - perfect water temperature for the entire shower) anyway, you can add a nice shower control very easily if your layout is similar. My shower is right next to the sink counter and I just drilled through and tapped into the sink faucet lines. I also replaced the sink faucet with a much nicer one.

I've got lots of pictures and more info here if you're interested in seeing them. https://wackypup.blogspot.com/2017/0...nstalling.html
