Default Battery charging?

I was wondering if you were boon dock camping and didn't want to run a generator all day to keep the battery up is safe to say you could hook up a eu3000 or eu2000 DC charging cable to the battery and quick charge the battery up? Instead of waiting on the slow boat from china built in camper charger? The instructions on the DC charging cable says "automotive style batteries" so am I ok to charge the camper battery with it? Not long term just a quick shot to it. I know the camper battery is a deep cycle type. Bad idea?

I have the honda eu 2000 w/a companion and have the automotive charger cable. I haven't used it but believe it would be OK.

For an absolute positive opinion, I'd contact a Honda Generator dealer or the company for a response on the deep cycle battery charging.

Roy,

I looked up the 12 volt charging output of our Honda EU2000i, and it is only 8 amps maximum. That is not exactly a fast charging rate either, especially compared a vehicle charging system. I think many if not most modern vehicles can put out well over 100 amps.

I did some checking also and on several of the other RV forums, most suggested using the 110/120 volt plug in on the generator to plug in a 'real' battery charger.

If your just charging battery wht not just plug into your truck and run it for 15 minutes to a 1/2 hour ? charges up my battery good enough.
I just put in a Optima BlueTop® Sealed Starting/Deep Cycle AGM Battery Group Size 31 (you have to buy the bigger battery box)
Pep boys had 25% off and free shipping

Ok thanks for the replys and helpful info. Cranking the truck plugged in to camper would be more effective method in a tight. Truck has a 170 amp alt with my package.
