Default Cable Connection

Will a satellite signal pass thru the cable connection or should I install another coonection?

I would think it would. When installed a Direct TV set-up at my last house, regular coax cable worked fine but the splitters had to be a two way type.

Thanks for the input. I've read so many opposing opinions on it that I figured I may be better off to just put in a dedicated satellite connection. Maybe the best thing to do is try it when I get the trailer back. Then I'll know for sure (maybe...)

On mine I could never get the factory wiring to work with my "dish tailgater for RV". For a while I ran a second line for it. But since I got a dish, I have never felt the need to hook up to CG cable hookups, so I re-wired so my cable for the sat recv goes right to the regular cable port on the outside of the trailer.

I have a Tailgater as well. since most of my trailer use is when I'm working out of town, if the campground has cable, I use it so I don't have to worry about the dish "walking off". If there is no cable, then I set the dish out when I get back in the evening and bring it in when I leave. I think I'll just put a separate connection for the dish in. That way, I know it will work and there's no risk of accidentally back feeding power from the trailer antenna amplifier into the Dish receiver.
