1) is it a digital TV or older analog?
2) If not digital, you'll need a conversion box
3) if it is, are you close to any stations?
Digital signals are weaker and travel in direct paths, so they can be blocked by tall buildings or trees too.
There is an attachment you can buy to hook to the atenna that is supposed to make it get in the digital signal better...by Winegard for around $29. You may need that if you are not close to stations.
