Chock install

I have a 2012 xt 276 fun finder. I want to install a condor 6400 chock so I can carry my gl 1800 gold wing motorcycle. I bought the bracket so that the chock can be easily removed. Does the chick have to be centered in the garage for the best stability. I was hoping to be able to use the interior door so I don't have to use the rear outside door to enter the garage. I know that Eagle has a similar set up so I was looking for suggestions. This is my first toy hauler. I used to use an enclosed trailer to haul my motorcycle. Thanks

Guessing it is probably best, but my XT-210 is set up for two bikes. The times I have had just one bike back there on one side I really have not noticed a problem. However, my two bikes may not weigh more than your one bike.

I also wondered about location of the Condor chock before installation and after reviewing many articles/posts on the net discovered mounting it on the left/drivers/high side was the most recommended.

As such, when only hauling my Harley Ultra Classic, the weight is on the 'high' side of the roadway. I've never noticed an 'imbalance' issue plus it allows use of the side door between the garage & bathroom.

When hauling two Harleys, the doorway is, of course, blocked by the 2nd bike & chock used.

Thank you for the information eagle. I will install the condor chock to the left of the door. This will allow me to use the door by the bathroom. I just didn't know how the trailer would travel with the weight off center. I also wondered if you are running load rate d or e tires on your xt 276. Since I need new tires I am looking at maxis load range d tires. I would like any suggestions. Thanks

Randall143 - I strongly suggest when under the unit to check and tighten the flush mount tie downs in the floor. When I checked mine, the nuts were not very tight, after tightening them, I also double nutted them. Perhaps an over precaution but better safe than sorry.

I measured for proper location of the Condor chock 'quick mount bracket' so when the chock is installed, it butts up to the bathroom wall and is centered between the flush mounted floor tie downs....gives just enough clearance to close the rear ramp door and to fit another Harley alongside so can haul two bikes in the garage area.

One other hint: I don't know what kind of bike you have but don't put anything loose on top of the bed in the raised position with the bikes parked in the garage. You may find it has slid off during travel and landed on top of your bike! And that includes the mattress sliding so have run tie down straps on mine.

No need to ask how I know this!!!!!

Thanks eagle for the info on the tie downs. It will be a tight fit with my Goldwing. I only have a few inches to spare. I am interested in what load rating tires you have on your xt 276. I know that you are hauling two Harley's. Mine came with load rating C and I am putting on new tires and looking at load range D maxis brand. Thanks.

I am still running the original tires that came on my XT276. They have plenty of tread but the sidewalls are starting to show some age even tho I keep them covered and have treated them with a few times per year with 303 UV Protectant, available from multiple sources as here:

Have done some reviews, I was debating between Goodyear Endurance and Maxxis...both in load range D.

Come spring, I believe I will go with the Goodyear Endurance because the closes dealer of Maxxis tires is some 300 miles away near Minneapolis, MN.

Good advice. I've had things slide off from there, too.

I bungee a pickup bed cargo net over the HappiJack storage shelf (What? It's supposed to be a bed? Who knew?). That keeps everything up there from rattling around.

Hello.

I just bought a used 2012 276. Just found out 3 of the four stainless motors idnt run when I flipped the switch. One of the four worked.

Do I have to remove those motors to manually lower the stabilizers? Any other tips about the 276?

I have owned a trailer before but not one with the motors.

Of course. No manuals or anything in the trailer
