Well, the new axle showed in just 4 days!

It's larger tube size inspires me...

The larger/heavier trailing arms as well.
OLD:

NEW:

Mounting points for the brackets were a match even though the 3500# replacement pads are wider...

It fit like a glove! Brakes, bearings everything. Maybe we'll be ready in a few days to test pull to the mountains for a few days.

Yes yes! Can't worry and relax at the same time and I'd much rather relax. The new axle wasn't as pricey, at $535, as I first thought. And I could do it myself so it kelp me outta trouble for a while....
Started with only about three quarters inch clearance over the tire, ended up with 3-1/4 inches clearance above the tire. So I'm happy.

Now...on to camping (and more projects in between)!!

Wanted to update the post. The new axle was fantastic all summer! No troubles and I am very happy with the upgrade.
