Default DSI Hot Water Heater

I used my 2009 X210WBS for the first time this weekend. No leaks ! Everything worked but the DSI water heater. I read the manual and couldn't find troubleshooting. The on/off switch is by the "kitchen" sink on the refrigerator wall. The campground guy helping me set up and seemed to know about it, so he switched it on. I did not have hot water all weekend, though there was water in the heater tank. The red light was on the hole time that says "reset". Is there something wrong with the DSI heater or did I not do something right? If it works, that is a lot more convenient than doing the propane. Can anyone help me with this please?

Are you sure you opened the propane line?

You can turn the hot water heater on, but if you don't offer propane it will not make hot water.

Default DSI Water Heater

Thanks for the info. I did not have the propane turned on. Didn't think it would need to be if it is electric. I'll try that and see if it works. Will let you know. Thanks much.

I have a FF-189 with a DSI water heater. My inside switch with the red light is beside the door in the kitchen. This only turns on the propane burner for hot water. To use the electric option I have to open the heater door on the outside of the trailer and push the off/on switch located on the lower left of the heater front panel. Mine has a pin clip in the on position that must be removed before the switch will activate. Above all, make sure the hot water tank is full before using the electric option. Otherwise you will fry the heater element. The only way to be completely sure it's full is to open the releif valve at the top of the tank while filling it. When the tank is full water runs from the relief valve. All this is fairly well explained in the operating instructions for the water heater.
