Default electric stabilizer jack on FunFinder 160X dead

I have a FunFinder 160X that I bought new in 2009. Unfortunately, my right front electric stabilizer jack is on the fritz. I'd like to replace it, but I noticed CruiserRV states they do not supply parts and I must contact a dealer. The closest dealer to me is 160 miles away. I did not receive the manual for the jack when I bought the trailer. My questions are: does anyone know where I can buy a replacement electric jack and what brand is the jack? Thank you!

Before replacing it, maybe you can tear it appart and figure out what is wrong with it. Just a thought.

It's probably a Lippert brand since it seems like FF used them for quite a few of their components. But it could also be Ultrafab or BAL. Can you get a part number off of it?

The weird thing is, I've looked all over these power stabilizers and can't find any brand name, parts number, or any marking at all for that matter. I've contacted the local FF authorized parts dealer and they are stumped by it too. I've taken photos of the stabilizer and sent them to the dealer, am now waiting for a reply. Doesn't look good!

I recall some time back, last year I believe, a poster on here by the handle of ROY replaced the electric stabilizers on his rig.

Maybe you can do a search thru the forums and located the post. There is a search function in the heading.

Why do you need the same brand. Get the same size and it will work

Thanks for your replies. I contacted the nearest authorized fun finder parts outfit. They cannot find what brand or part number the power stabilizer is. I have sent them photos in the hopes that one of their mechanics may know what it is.

I had a motor burn out on one of mine and was unable to find a replacement so I replaced both sides with manual scissor jacks (stabilizers). They really only take minute or two longer to deploy and won't let me down. But if your really stuck on repairing yours I may have parts.

Criagger: thanks for your reply. I am actually considering installing a manual jack on the front R corner of my Fun Finder 160. Can you tell me the brand and number of the jack you installed? It seems like I've looked at dozens of jacks and I have no idea of which one would fit my fun finder.

With manual jacks, do what I do. Get yourself a cheap Harbor Freight cordless drill (or equivalent) and a scissor jack drive bit. I use it to raise and lower my jacks and it takes about 5 seconds to do each one.

They are a brand called Husky I picked up at a local RV shop for around $100 on sale. They came with all the hardware and installation instructions. Made in US too.

Lots of them on Ebay as here:

electric ones here: Scissor Jack Power Pak by BAL

Default BAL Power Stabilzer Jack

I have these (BAL Power Stabilizer Jack) on our FF 214. They have been a PIA to keep working. The primary failure I have seen is the switch. You can get them from BAL. I have had a couple of motor failures, but they have been related to the switch - either sticking in the on position or shorting out and causing the motor to overheat. BAL instructions call for the installation of a fuse for each switch. That seems to have fixed the motor issues. I carry a few switches with me.

Call them at:

BAL R.V. Products Group
2600 Jeanwood Drive
Elkhart, IN 46514
PHONE: 800-347-2232

It is easy to remove the power assembly and the jacks will work just fine.

There are tons of options out there, but as an example something like this would work. Measure the distance from the point on the frame where it attaches to the ground that will tell you which size stabilizer you need.

I do not have these myself. But:
From what I have seen, almost all suffer from high amp draw due to excessive voltage drop over the long lengths and small diameter gauge wiring installed by the factory. It also has a very detrimental effect on the motors, over heating the windings.

Thanks everyone for your help. It turns out I have two bad motors on the stabilizers. My Rv mechanic told me these jacks are sh*t and not worth replacing. Not to mention I've been chasing my tail for a few days trying to get replacement motors. APD: you are so right, my mechanic echoes what you said. So.... what I will do is remove all the motors, my mechanic will weld a nut on the screw end of the jacks I have and I will use an electric drill to work the jacks.
