Check to see if any of the cables have come loose from the back of the stereo unit. Although it doesn't seem like that would cause it to spit out the CD's.

It could also be that your system has just given up the ghost. These RV CD/DVD systems aren't very high quality. When mine died a few years ago I did a lot of research trying to find a high quality replacement only discover that there isn't one. In my case the unit was a Jensen so I finally ended up just replacing it with another of the same brand that was the same dimensions and used the same connectors. So replacement was simple.

Thanks for the reply. My problem with checking the cables is that I can't find a way to get to the back of the system. Do we need to remove the unit to access them, and if so how do I manage that There is no opening to the back.

You most likely will have to remove the unit to access the cables. There is probably a decorative plastic frame of some sort that snaps onto the face of the unit to hide the screws. You should be able to pull or pry it off to access the screws.

The unit comes out pretty easily. As LJAZ said, there are two plastic covers on the left and right ends. Fit a flat bladed screwdriver into slots on the sides and pry the end caps off. The unit is held in by 4 Phillips head screws. Take these out and the unit pulls out to access all of the wires.

I'll add that I haven't been impressed with my Elite, same age and probably model as the one you have. Good luck.
