If it's relatively lightweight stuff like a trash bag you could use those 3M Command hooks. They are easy to put up, hold a surprising amount of weight and you can remove them and they don't leave any marks or holes. I use them all over the trailer to hold towels, keys, leashes, a clock etc. They even have a line designed for outdoor use.
Depending on what we need to hang, we use either bungee cords, just the metal hooks taken out from the bungee hooks (fit nicely in the awning sides holes), or small diameter rope.
The metal hooks work great for connecting a tarp to the awning sides to block sun/wind (& tent spikes to the ground).

I used them to hang the awning I made. They look like they will stand up over time. Nice thing is the hook is removable when you are not using it WITHOUT removing the base and adhesive. You can just pop the hook part off and leave the base. That way I'm hoping I won't have to use new adhesive every time I install the awning. The ones I bought are middle-sized and have a 5-lb capacity. Assuming I used 4 on the awning, it should hold 20 lbs, which is a lot more than I need. Maybe for a trash bag you could put up two hooks about a foot apart which would have the added advantage of making the top of the bag open easier. I got a big pack of the hooks at sams for $10. I think they were on sale, they are now $14 (https://www.samsclub.com/sams/comman...rod19861723.ip)
