Fitting 2 6 volt batteries on a x139

Hello! I am trying to fit 2 6 volt trojan t-105 on my x-139. Did anyone did this mod and how did yoo do it?

Well, I put two group 31 12 volt batteries on the tongue -- I bolted steel bars crossways, and then bolted battery boxes to the bars. It helps to have a good tap and die set in order to thread the holes in the tongue frame.

Just do as ProfDant said and then attach the batteries in series rather than parallel to get 12VDC. Use a heavy gauge conductor between the two batteries and put some tape on both ends that is neither Red nor Black (perhaps blue) just so you or others know the difference. I imagine you are using deep cycle batteries so you need to make sure your 12V charger is correct for deep cycle batteries as the charge voltage is higher than for normal no-maintenance batteries. Technically speaking, your tow vehicle will not properly charge deep cycle batteries and they will be undercharged after driving.

I found this chart which shows that a "6 Volt Deep Cycle" battery should be charged to 7.05-7.35V (corresponding to 14.1 to 14.7V for a "12 Volt D.C." battery) in order to be fully charged. This is a higher voltage than your tow vehicle will provide.

I have been reading a lot on batteries and i will go with a good regular 12v class 31 batterie. Got the solar panel fix on the roof and this will give us planty of energie for our needs. Thanks to all for your comments,

Okay, just so you know that regular car batteries are not rated to be discharged over 5-10%. Deep discharge batteries are rated for 50% discharge.
