Angry Floor rot under window

Just been checking over our 2014 WSD (a bit late this year) and found a section of rotten floor under the top hinged bedroom window. We have had intermittent problems with leakage at the bottom of the window, but it never seemed seemed serious and I have gone over the caulking many times. I assume that the insulation under the floor will also have to be replaced. Anyone had this problem? I will probably have to go to the nearest dealer for an estimate.

What a hassle! Very sorry to hear this. Have you tried removing the window? I have removed a front window -- never a side window. For the front, you unscrew it all around, lift it out (a two person job!), reapply butyl caulking tape all around, and then screw it back in. Not sure if the side window is as easy . . . .

Default went DIY

I decided to try to fix it myself after all. Cut out the vinyl floor covering larger than the rotted area, removed the rotted wood and found a piece of 5/8 plywood the right size. Now I have to find some insulation and a waterproofing spray and replace the vinyl.
