Default Fresh water tank leak

My 2014 FF 189 FBS has started dripping at fresh water tank drain plug. The problem is cracks in the small part that protrudes about one-half inch out from the tank and holds the drain plug. Can't tighten drain plug more as that will make it worse. I would just as soon spray something like FlexSeal on it. Anybody else have this drip and how did you fix it. Thank you.

What about JB Plastic Weld. Or the type of glue for plastic you cure with UV light. Silverado

Is there enough room at the bottom to cut out the broken plastic, and install a bulkhead NPT fitting in it's place? These fittings are used to add NPT fittings to rain barrels, aquariums....

this would require making a hole at the top of the tank to get the fitting inside.

As a temporary fix, maybe you could put a hose clamp around the threaded body that sticks out of the tank to help squeeze the threads around the drain valve?

I believe the tanks are made of HDPE (High density poly ethylene) and the fittings are nylon. HDPE is the same material used from plastic milk jugs to plastic kayaks. There are HDPE welders sold for Kayak repair and there are some DYI hacks also found online. I’d check youtube for kayak repair and use those methods to seal the ctacks.

I did wrap some rubber (from old inner tube) around it and used hose clamp to secure. We are going out this week so we'll see.
Thanks for replying.

There may be room for this fix. See other replies for what I will probably try first. Thank you for replying.
