Fresh water tank supports

I have a question. This is my 2nd RV and, looking under them, I see that both have steel angle supports for the fresh water tank that are seriously bowed down. I was wondering if this was from the factory or if they had gradually bowed down from the weight of the tanks when full.
Can anyone with a new model comment on whether their supports are straight or bowed down?

When my 2012 X139 was new, the fresh water tank sagged. Everyone assured me that this was normal.

But I am one of those belt and suspenders people -- so I reinforced the tank supports with a few more angle supports.

I figured that my extra supports couldn't do any harm, and might do some good.

After a hundred thousand miles of towing (over rough freeways and rougher dirt roads), my tank is still hanging in there.

About a year after I got my XT276 toy hauler, and after reading several stories about owners having their fresh water tanks fall out from under their units, I decided to add 4 extra supports to mine 'just for insurance.'

To date - ZERO issues and adding supports was easy peasy!

I was worried about mine on a 189fds so I bought 2 cargo straps and drilled holes in the frame and ran them cris cross underneath for support. Now since I read this I need to go underneath to see if my angle iron is bending to.

Straps are a good alternative to angle bars. I used both (since I am notoriously risk averse). I used plumbing straps, the kind that are used to hold water heaters so they don't tip over in an earthquake.

When you install the straps, put a piece of plywood under the water tank and then use a car jack to push up on the plywood, thus raising the tank temporarily.

I used aluminum angle supports. Purchased a length at local hardware store, cut to lengths needed and screwed into place like the factory angle supports were.

My fresh water reservoir sits on the floor inside the storage area beneath the foot end of the queen-size bed. If there’s any “sagging”, I’ve got bigger fish to fry !
I suppose though, I should check to see that the gray and black water tanks are secured properly. Since they are always empty or near empty when traveling, it’s highly unlikely that they will ever be sagging to the point of dropping out of their under-frame mounts.

I just finished mounting an additional 51 gallon fresh water tank and was wondering about this. My new tank supports consist of 1" x .120 wall square tubing. I may go ahead and add some of this to brace the original tank. I'll bend the bowed out supports back to straight first.
