Default Heater Strip

We decided to go fall camping up here in the W210, and to check out the heating systems in the trailer. When I switched on the heat strip option that was on thermostat system the blower came on in the A/C unit but no heat even after 15 min. I pulled the filter out and looked in the unit. There is no heat strip installed, there is a place for it to plug into and I even took off the main cover inside and checked out the intake duct. My question is does this unit come with the heat strip option and was it missed at the factory. My dealer has no clue as to if it was supposed to be there or not. I emailed the factory but have not had a reply.

They dont come with them.
I got one on Ebay
It was easy to install direct plug in,you just have to cut out a notch to bring the wire to the front where the plug is.
If you noticed the insulation is there for the strip(its like a oven element but shaped like a light bulb.)

It works great when hooked up to electric but you cant adjust temp, its on or off so at night I use the gas heat.

Thanks for the reply, that's what I figured. I will look around to see if I can get any deals on this item as the local dealer here has them but want's over $100 for them. Purchased a small electric fan heater that is very silent and works well as I find the gas heater makes too much noise at night.
