Default How did you attach solar panels attached to roof

For those that have done it, how did you anchor your solar panels to your roof. Specifically, how did you attach the metal panel holders to the roof? Did you screw them into the roof trusses or just into the deck sheeting?

I just screwed them into the roof with some Dicor and screws with aggressive threads.

I'm considering using 3m VHB tape, I've been seeing people say you can use it without screws.
This guy mounts a really heavy array with it:

although his roof is aluminum but i think the tape sticks to vinyl as well

I went with small "L" brackets evenly spaced to mount/attach to the sides of the 215 watt panel and to the roof of the camper. Used screws/washers and my friend Dicor self-leveling. Just screws and washers and Dicor for the flexible panels.

The roof deck sheeting is only a 1/4 inch thick. Not sure if that is thick enough to secure the panels safely.

I think I would try what this guy did and install flexible panels with tape. Just maybe like he says later no lock tight. Maybe two nuts on top would be better.

I need to get more information about the wiring and charge controller's etc. Since I am new to this I will need way more planning before I would start on the project.
