Default How do I lubricate the wheel bearings on my Fun Finder

I am into my second year with my Fun Finder and I am unsure of how to grease the bearings. I am also assuming they should be done on a yearly basis.I believe you use a grease gun but cannot find where or how to get to the bearing. There is the black plastic cover on the hub of the wheel but I am afraid of breaking it off, as it doesn't seem to want to come off. Do I need to be a bit more forceful? Just afraid of breaking it off. Any suggestions would be much appreciated

According to my owners manual, this is an annual maintenance item. I haven't done this job yet on mine but I assume it's like any other type of automotive or trailer wheel. So you can't use a grease gun to grease the wheel bearings. You will have to remove the wheel and the hub to access the bearings.

Here's a link to the procedure:

2006 to 2009 Cruiser RV's are equipped with E-Z Lube hubs that have a grease zerk underneath the black rubber cap at the center of the axel hub.

For lube procedure on E-Z Lube hubs, see...

Default Re: How do I lubricate the wheel bearings on my Fun Finder

Shadow Cruiser kindly returned my phone call and indicated that FunFinders have sealed bearings. This was good news. I had called several dealerships in our general area and responses varied from "I don't know" (which was at least honest) to "it will be a four hour job but we don't do that work - take it to a tire shop" . Hope this is of help to others. Appreciated the comments from keyser soze.

Hey _eh!

Fun Finder uses 3 different types of axle bearings, for a description to the styles and a "How To" grease the bearings click the link below

Wow, who knew? Not me obviously. Hopefully mine is equipped the same, repacking bearings isn't all that hard but it is a dirty messy job.

It is one job I never enjoyed, ended up with grease all over my clothes, and deep under finger nails!

When I greased my trailer last fall it took all of 1.5 hours, those quick lube hubs make it clean and easy!

I did some research and found out the skinny on the bearings and hubs used in the Fun Finder line of trailers.

From what I have been able to find, Cruiser RV (The parent Company of Fun Finders) used the following equip on their trailers...

Dexter E-Z Lube hubs on its 2006 to 2009 trailers. These hubs allow lubing the bearings via a grease fitting at the center of the hub.

Dexter Nev-R-Lube hubs on the 2010 and up trailers. Nev-R-Lube hubs have sealed bearings and don't require any service. They are warrantied for 5 years/100,000 miles.

Mine are EZ Lube hubs. Gently pry out the rubber cover on the end of the hub and there is a zurk fitting. I like the Red N Tacky grease myself.
About every third year I pull the hub, clean, inspect bearings and brake components then repack and reinstall. So far so good.

Yeah, it's from a post from 2010, so it's not found... happens with old links sometimes. But the link keyser soze posted takes you to another thread on this forum that has a YouTube video and more info on how to do it.
